I have to admit a little secret… After turning 30, I had to have a “come-to-Jesus moment” with myself in regard to skincare. I didn’t want to wake up at 50 and look 70 due to lack of hydration, an inconsistent routine, and SPF use. I quickly realized I needed to get my daily regimen in order and start taking better care of my skin, especially at night. Funnily enough, around the same time, I was introduced to Olay’s new Regenerist Retinol24 line which features a night eye cream, night serum and night moisturizer, promising to give you smoother, brighter skin within 24 hours while providing lasting hydration.
It’s no secret that Olay is a popular household name in the skincare industry, but retinol has a reputation of being expensive, ineffective and harsh on sensitive skin. The last thing I needed was another product that wasn’t going to work and take up extra space on the counter. Could they crack the code? I was about to find out! If you’ve been watching my Emmy-worthy insta-stories or following on Instagram, you most likely saw how excited I was to receive the new products so I was truly hoping they wouldn’t let me down.
After the last few weeks of using the products, it became apparent that the answer was yes! Olay was exceeding my expectations and taking all of the benefits of retinol while removing the irritating elements and high cost leaving me to quickly fall in love. It was so easy to incorporate into a routine especially when I saw results within days, shocking, I know. It was even more shocking that Chris noticed a difference casually commenting “I don’t know what you’re doing different, but you make up looks good babe.” #jokesonhim - I had no makeup on!
Out of all three products sent, I would have to say the Retinol Night Eye Cream was my favorite. Since I was a kid, I have always had dark circles and bags around my eyes (popped way too many bottles in the crib) and it has become an insecurity of mine. When I have wanted to go out with no makeup, I always felt like I looked way too rough. The eye cream has evened out and brightened my tone as you can see in the pictures below. (The first was taken in Jamaica about six months ago and the latter on November 2nd!) Not to mention, the best part is the eye cream wasn’t super oily like other products I have used in the past and has a super lightweight, yet smooth and silky feel. If I had to pick one product out of the line to get, this would be my recommendation! Also, it is not recommended to use all three products at one - especially if it's your first time using a retinol product.
Overall, I am highly satisfied with the results and can’t wait to continue using the products. I also love that the products are affordable! Click here for a list of local retailers in your area and/or to get more information on #Retinol24.
